Biography

About Me

Born and raised in Italy, I now live and work between Italy and Brazil.

After a career in science, I moved to the United States to study photography at the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California.

Over the years, I have worked as a photographer for various United Nations agencies and travel magazines, and I have been teaching photography and Photoshop for many years. My work has also been represented by several photo agencies worldwide.

In recent years, I have dedicated myself exclusively to artistic production, showcased on this website. Selected works are also available through the galleries Saatchi Art and Artmajeur.

I am also a passionate pianist and collaborate with Brazilian painter Américo de Carvalho e Sousa.

Endless Innovation, Allo-realism and Synesthesia

I never stop innovating. As an artist and former scientist, my work is shaped by research and intuition, not by market expectations. I explore new directions, allowing each body of work to emerge from experimentation rather than repetition. This commitment defines my practice: while my techniques evolve, the core remains a deep exploration of perception and meaning.

Many of my images are allo-realistic, blending a realistic foundation with subtle unreal elements. Unlike surrealism, these nuances are woven into realism, challenging the viewer’s sense of what is real.

My photographs often cause synesthesia, visual stimuli into alternate perceptions — such as sounds, scents, or tactile sensations.

Artist Statement

I consider myself a painter who uses photography, a photo-painter who captures our inner world: the deep emotions and moods hidden from sight. I make them visible and felt.

  • Pro Grigioni Exhibition Gallery, Poschiavo, Switzerland.
